sell my old clothes, i'm off to heaven

There's a beautiful sky tonight and if you were
by my side then we could share it but you are gone.
So come at me with your moon and burn me in the stars
cause nothing matters anymore.
-Sell My Old Clothes, I'm Off To Heaven by Saves The Day

Wow I haven't posted in a while...I guess that's what happens when you become a senior in high school. All of a sudden working on college apps and narrowing down my list of schools just a teensy bit more has become my entire life; and of course, actually motivating myself to work on my college essay. I've done one draft that is absolutely shiteous, and haven't dared go back. It's really quite a problem. In addition to that, I now have the stress of making some cash - all summer long I've been spending so much on all kinds of things - and so I've created an eBay account where I'm now selling old clothes of mine that I never really wore. Help a sister and check it out? I'd be ever gracious if you checked out the clothes I have posted, and if you could pass on the note that would be even better. Here's the link.

Enjoy the rest of your summer (if it hasn't already been brought to a screeching halt with the return of school)!

well, i found myself in lots of trouble

Just the other day, you see.
Took a test for college, ACT.
And though I'd studied real hard,
All the answers would not come to me.
Still I had to take it, ACT.
ACT, ACT, ACT, ACT,
I've just got to pass it, ACT!
-ACT (American College Test) by Joelle

Okay, so this actually isn't too relevant at the moment because I'm actually going to rant about the SAT's...but there is no song about the SAT's so we're going to settle for the ACT song instead. In any case. The SAT's are in a little over a week, and I am so not prepared. I haven't studied for weeks, and it's really just not good. Last year I took this prep course at MIT, but that was over a year ago at this point. The most I've done is just skim through my collegeboard prep book, and that hasn't been all that helpful. Plus, I just spent hours poring over this website that prepares you for the application process for college that our school provides, and I've realized that based upon my PSAT scores from this year, the only schools that I can manage to get into are really shiteous ones. I'm planning on applying to Cornell and Harvard...and so if I don't kick ass on this test, my ass will be kicked. And that will not be fun. At all. Actually.

AHHHHHH so much stress.

please let the snow swallow the streets whole

Keep the bus from coming
Let us stay home so we can avoid the daily drudgery
The cruelty fueled from laughter that will echo in our sleep
-Snow Day by The Honorary Title

It's Sunday night. Tomorrow is Monday. A few days ago, we here in Massachusetts had beautiful weather, nice and comfortable, about 50ish degrees. Today, it's been snowing lightly all day, and we discovered that it's supposed to snow 4-6 inches tonight, and 5-8 tomorrow throughout the day. The result? All of us high schoolers keeping our fingers crossed for a snow day tomorrow. And we [finally] got the call about an hour ago finding out that school is off for tomorrow.

Which is amazing. Don't get me wrong, I love having school off when I least expect it, but I'm really quite sick of snow at this point. It's March 1, and I just really really REALLY want spring to be here already. I love being able to layer clothing in winter, but I'm ready to be able to go to school in the mornings with just a sweater, no heavy coat required. Winter has just dragged on for the longest time, and it's so depressing. Everything is a blinding white, and when it gets sunny, it's impossible to get from class to class without looking like an extremely Asian person, what with the squinting of the eyes and whatnot.

The other day when I was walking to my bus stop, I looked up and saw one little tree with tiny little buds forming on it's fragile branches. It made me so happy, you have no idea. It just yelled "Spring's coming! Don't worry Zora, hang in there!" And so I'm going to hang in there until spring really shows up for good. In two weeks winter officially ends...and so I'm hoping the seasons do their thing and allow spring to shine.

purchases 02/27/09

This is the massive load of jewelry that just came in the mail today, I got an amazing deal on this order. I just had to pay for the necklace, and got everything else free! I love it all so much.

The whole stash

Gorgeous pearl locket, I think it's going to become a staple in my everyday wardrobe now. It's so classic and pretty.

I actually have no idea what this is, the seller just threw it in for me. It's a long gold chain with two plastic cylindrical figures at the ends. I'm totally clueless to what it could possibly be, anyone have any idea?

Bracelet #3: This one unfortunately doesn't fit me, so I gave it to my sister.

Great shiny flats, they're a tad bit tight around the sides but nonetheless they rock.
